These are musings/artifacts from the wanderings of a distracted visionary developing his trigger finger. Think of them not as the dictations of a man with it all together, but rather, communications tapped out in half-remembered morse code, from a Jonah in a whale, not sure where he is headed, but assuming there's a destination. Hence, like a Jonah, I send out a nice mix of insights from the inside and cries for help. andrewmwhaley@gmail.com.

Good article on what your brain is doing when you are doing nothing.

Found this article through the newly Twittering David Allen. It’s pretty interesting stuff and, as best I can understand it, it would seem that the ever maligned “monkey mind” may play a huge role in your personal development. Check it out. Also, on the topic of neuroscience and it’s interface with things philosophical, theological, or personal, I’d recommend the amazing book The Mind and the Brain: Neuroplasticity and the Power of Mental Force by Schwartz. He is a friend of mine’s OCD doc, a member of the Discovery Institute, and the auther of this book, which Gilder called a “daring rescue of the concept of free will.” It’s not an easy read, but pays dividends. Also R.R. Reno had this article over on First Things, showing the link between the bleeding edge of the neuroscience and the Aristotelean concept of the soul as the form of the body. Great article! Well, that’s enough grey matter for now. I’m going to stop all this doing and get down to something important- nothing!
