And people still wonder about all the emphasis Plato put on music in The Republic. It would be interesting to do this study with seasoned wine tasters and sommeliers, to see if the swing was as wide. Also, it would be cool to see what role conversation plays in it, or arguing and debate. I’ve drank a lot of fantastic wine while being forced to listen to that damn Rod Stewart’s “Great American Songs” travesty and it still tasted pretty damn good. Could it have tasted 60% better to Vivaldi or Jeff Buckley? I may never know.
