These are musings/artifacts from the wanderings of a distracted visionary developing his trigger finger. Think of them not as the dictations of a man with it all together, but rather, communications tapped out in half-remembered morse code, from a Jonah in a whale, not sure where he is headed, but assuming there's a destination. Hence, like a Jonah, I send out a nice mix of insights from the inside and cries for help. andrewmwhaley@gmail.com.

When I was studying in Denver, I used to run into Archbishop Chaput on occasion. No- really, actually run into him-  books flying, etc. I almost made him drop a pie once. The archbishop is, what my high school Alegebra teacher and basketball coach would have called, a “go-getter.” He is always moving quick and with intent, sometimes on the inside blind corner of the first floor of the JPII Center for the New Evangelization, near the soda machine, by the back door. My conversations with him on those occasions, and on less “collisional” ones, revealed to me a man of sincere faith, deep patience, and abiding love for his flock and his priesthood. I don’t know the man, but he left an impression- a dent actually, in my laptop. (not really.)
