Calix, meaning "cup" or "chalice" in Latin, is a Catholic apostolate, ecumenical in scope, for the sake of the seeking. It exists to help people use hospitality, craft, and beauty to create community, primarily through assisting in the building of coffeehouses, cafes, and espresso bars. We hold the classical view of the human person, especially as is presented in the dynamic synthesis in the thought of Karol Wojtyla/JPII, but are dedicated to using the best modern insights from the worlds of psychology, physiology, productivity, philosophy, theology, and design. Our final end is to create spaces, deeply marked by wonder, that naturally support the creation of relationships in which God can be experienced in daily life. Our patron saint is St. John Paul the Great.
